7A 3-in-1 piece that transforms with the weather, from snapped-up spring shell to unbuttoned sleeveless summer dress. This breathable, wind-resistant and water-repellant dress is designed with detachable sleeves, adjustable length cord and detailed ruching.
Other reviewers have been unhappy with this as a jacket. It is not a jacket, but a dress/tunic. (They shouldn't include it in the "jacket" section of the website.) I wear mine with leggings to work and have received more compliments than I can count. I am hoping for even more colors!

I thought this 'dress' would be a great windbreaker for walks on the San Francisco beach and bicycling. I was beguiled by the cute styling and the promise of a great design, but this dress/jacket stays in my closet. 1) Haven't figured out what the ruching is about. 2) The one pocket is woefully inadequate for anything but a key. Can't even fit my reading glasses in it. So if I wear this, I have to carry a purse. 3) Not dependable wind protection: the spaces between the snaps are too big - wind comes in, and 4) I have to concentrate to close the front. It's hard to know if it is buttoned correctly; I am constantly counting snaps, and sometimes the ones in the flowing collar get lost, so I'm buttoning it crooked or otherwise fumbling when I want to be lookin' good. If I could return this to the place I bought it I would. Just not enjoying it at all.

I really wanted to love the Chrysalis dress. I had been eying it for months hoping it would go on sale or I could get a discount code. Finally the time came for our trip to France and I broke down and bought it at full price. Even once I got it, I wasn't sure if I was going to send it back. My husband talked me into keeping it by saying it was the cutest rain jacket ever. And it is cute, but... Cons: *The fabric is thinner than I expected (which may be great for warmer months) *I have a love/hate relationship with the crazy long sleeves. I have to roll them up about 3-4 inches for eating or washing my hands. *The tie is cute, but in a strange place. It hits right across the left breast and would be better placed slightly under the breast. *There is only ONE pocket! It really drove me crazy to not have 2 hand pocket; it would be nice to have the same slim line zipper on 2 hand pockets. The one pocket should have been made a smidge larger. It could fit my passport, but barely and it was a struggle to get in and out; same thing with my iPhone 3G. My passport & phone wouldn't fit in there together and not sure if it would fit the 4G iPhones. *I could care less about the rouching ties in the back. *It could use one more snap on the sleeves as there was a gape on the back side and I occasionally could feel the breeze come in there. *The collar is a little odd; half the "tie" effects the collar. It's not much use except to look cool. One windy day, I was really wishing there was a lightweight hood in there. Pros: *Super light weight *Wrinkle resistant (I wadded it up and shoved it in my bag several times) *It is water resistant (event though I fortunately didn't get to test it in a down pour) *Did I mention cute :)
So I bought this and took it on a 12 day trip to France in October and used it as a jacket. I have yet to wear it as a dress. I bought it in size large (I'm 5'10" and 160 lbs) and it fit great even with a bulky sweatshirt underneath. So overall, I would say this is a pretty cool jacket/dress. However, due to the missing "accessories" (pockets, hood, extra snap, etc.), I don't think it's worth it's full price. Add in those items and then it'll worth it's price; Almost there Nau.

Oh I wish this had lived up to my expectations. I so loved the idea -- flexible use, awesome cut, cool color. It was going to be my summer go to - great for dressing up workout clothes. Perfect for travel. Except the fit is so off. Now I own a few Nau pieces - I've been slowly buying a NAU outerwear wardrobe -- I love the designs that much. And the Chrysalis was my big splurge for this year. But after living with it for a season I must say it is also my biggest disappointment. The sleeves are so unbelievably long I have to roll them up whenever I wear them. The snap design leaves big gaps which I hate. The material feels flimsy and just does not hang nicely. And the empire waist tie on design is non-functional for women with breasts. Perhaps only for women with flat chests? I am not sure. But I've always worn a L in NAU pieces and this one is tight in all the wrong places and huge in the rest. I don't often get buyers remorse -- but I have a bad case of it over my lovely Chrysalis. And I thought we were going to be so good together. Boo hoo. .

I love this jacket because it's fashionable, functional and fits well. It provides light protection against the elements all while looking cute and will take up hardly any space in your bag when you're not wearing. No wonder it's been a part of Nau's collection from the beginning.

I love, love, love this dress!! Whenever I wear it I feel so cute, modern and up-to-date. Sleeves are nice and long for my long arms. Empire waist is very flattering. I bought it when Nau first came out with it and 3 years later it's still very stylish, my favorite Nau piece and worth every penny.

This is one of my favorite Nau items and the most ingenious designs out there. It is perfect for traveling because it doesn't take up too much room, it's a good cover up and it can look a little dressy (I've actually worn pearls with it, yes I have). It also looks great on its own with leggings or jeans. And a bonus feature is the sleeves snap on and off. I get so many compliments for this "dress" that I'm sure I have sold quite a few for Nau. A little pricey, but worth it!
