The fine, soft hand of yak fibers are often compared to cashmere. However, cashmere goats can destroy grasslands and contribute to desertification, while yaks graze lightly, skimming leaves and grass rather than uprooting vegetation. The yak's minimal impact eases overgrazing, yet produces an equally soft, but more sustainable fiber than cashmere. We blended the soft yak fiber with 100% certified organically grown cotton which does not use synthetic pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers or defoliants at any point in its growth and development.
