    Perfect (if a little heavy)

I love, love, love this tranchcoat! It is very warm and completely waterproof. It looks chic with boots and I have had a lot of compliments on it. I'm so glad I bought it. I love being warm, dry, and elegant!

My only caveat is that is is VERY heavy and bulky, so don't assume that it is like a "normal" light puffy down coat. It is much better than a down coat, but it definitely weighs a lot.

As for size, I am 5' 5 1/2" and weigh 160. I bought the large, and it is fine for me; the medium could probably fit me, but I don't like tight things, and I do like to wear a sweater under this coat on really, really freezing days.

    beautiful coat

I recently purchased this coat at the sale price and as usual am so impressed with Nau's quality and workmanship. This coat is beautifully made and is so warm. I haven't had a chance to wear it yet as where I am now has warm weather not cold.
I look forward to using it next fall and winter when I'll be in the Pacific Northwest and have the opportunity to wear it on a regular basis. Thank you, Nau, for the work that you do and the clothes that you make!

Great winter jacket for the Northwest

For years I have searched for the perfect down which is not the trending pillow appearing puffy coat but yet one which is still warm, rain proof, and urban for Seattle winters. I found all of this to be true of the Copenhagen trench coat. The arms are perfectly long as is the overall length. The inner cuffs, fold over pockets and weather proof zipper prove it was designed to be more than just fashionable. I would agree with other reviewers the hood design is somewhat flimsy compared to the rest of the coat. I would also argue the collar is about 1/2-1 inch too tall but conversely this could be seen as a benefit during strong winds as it would shield your face if fully zipped. I also agree the side pockets could have been a warmer fabric but again the benefit would be if you have damp gloves the current pocket would be a bonus. Overall these minor complaints are negligible because otherwise the coat is just so perfect. One last comment, I tend to be in between sizes with Nau but err on slightly too big to accommodate for bulky winter sweaters. I am 5 ft. 8 in. 130 lbs. size 6 dress and ended up with a medium to get a longer sleeve length but the width through the body is slightly more generous than needed.

    Too long

Looked nothing like coat in pic where coat hits knee-ish, it was much longer and looked odd, not stylish. I am 5'7 so am not typically considered short...

    Great Coat

I bought this coat for a river cruise Amsterdam to Budapest last November. I expected the weather to be cold and rainy and it was indeed! This coat was warm, stylish and shed rain. I was very comfortable and grateful I had brought it along. My only problem were the snap closures. The "top" snaps are covered by the outer shell fabric. It is a nice look, however, after a month of wearing the coat daily, the fabric on top of the snaps developed an odd shine. It almost looked like I had soiled those areas, but on closer examination it was a shine which had developed just on the snaps. All in all, I am still happy I purchased this coat.
